    Radiology or X-ray is routinely used to provide valuable information about a pet\u2019s bones, gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines, colon), respiratory tract & lungs, heart and genitourinary tract (bladder, prostate).

    \nRadiology can be used alone or in conjunction with other diagnostic tools to provide a list of possible causes for a pet\u2019s condition, identify the exact cause of a problem or to rule out possible problems.

    \nWhen a pet is being radiographed, an x-ray beam passed through its body onto a radiographic film. Images on the film appear in various shades of gray, and reflect the anatomy of the animal. Interpretation of radiographic film requires great skill on the part of a veterinarian.

    \nSedation is frequently required to obtain a diagnostic x-ray.<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
